In the first line of the book “Good To Great Why Some Companies Make The Leap And Others Don’t”, by author Jim Collins he writes, “Good is the enemy of great”. When we become good at something, there is a temptation to simply stop there.
For those of you who have been with us for many years now, you know that here at Les Petites Pommes, we’re always trying to improve. These past few months, John and I have been pushing ourselves to develop new and better internal systems which is what led us to reading this book together in the first place.
The reason I am bringing it up here is because at the end of the book it asked a question that really struck me. “What work makes you feel compelled to try to create greatness?” I had never thought of the question in those exact words, but coming off our awesome and energetic in-person and online March Break Camps last week, seeing and connecting with all of our students and families, it was very clear to me: Creating Positive Learning Experiences.
After the tough 2 years we have all had, I’m more vigilant to not take anything for granted and I feel even deeper the privilege to get to work with all of you to achieve this purpose and create the most positive learning experiences possible, together! Thanks for being a part of our learning community!:)
Whether it’s family, work, fitness, school, community etc. what is something you care so much about that you want to engage yourself to make it the greatest it can possibly be?
