Description

Learn and practice French through our bilingual after-school program! Each day students will experience a structured blend of both academics and fun!

During our first portion of each day after arriving, having a washroom break and snack time, we will focus on building foundations in the French language through our daily routines of singing songs, writing, reading and speaking activites. Students each have their own duotang to keep their work organized. (Students become quite proud of the work they acheive!)

Following this academic time, we will transition to games, crafts and other hand-on activities. Our teachers are skilled at creating activities that engage students in both French and English.

Our goal is for students attending our program to complete all homework with us, and also to have fun spending our evenings together. We have been running our French camps and tutoring programs since 2009 so we understand how to create a balance of both learning and fun!

Do you accept students in either the French Immersion or English stream?

Yes, we accept students from all backgrounds into this program and will support them in either language.

What is the minimum number of students?

We require 5 students to run the program.

How does registration work?

Registration for this program is on a monthly basis. Once you are registered you will be billed by the 25th of the previous month for the package you have signed up for. If you wish to cancel at any time, simply let us know and we will not bill you for the following month. If you join partially through a month, your first month fee will be prorated accordingly.

Can I switch which days my child attends?

When you choose your package, you will choose the days your child will be attending for that month. Changes can only be made at the beginning of the month if there is availability.

Do you offer refunds if my child doesn’t attend for a day or for snow days?

Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for days unattended or snow days.

Do you offer pick up from Cootes Paradise?

Yes, we will be able to pick students from Cootes Paradise and bring them to our location next door at 215 Cline Ave North. Parents will be required to send a note to the school giving our teachers permission for pick up of their child.

What if I am later than 6 PM?

Our teachers will usually be continuing their evening with their individual tutoring students following after-care so we will need parents to have collected their child/children at the very latest by 6 PM. A charge of $10 per minute will be issued for every minute past 6 PM and will be billed accordingly. Consistent lateness may result in removal from the program.

Will snacks be provided?

Snacks will not be provided.

Do your teachers have vulnerable sector checks?

Yes, all of our teachers are required to provide a vulnerable sector check before starting.

How long has Les Petites Pommes been in operation?

We have been providing after-school tutoring and camps for kids since 2009. Through these programs, we have helped thousands of students learn and feel confident in French!

Where are you located?

We are located in the lower level of Temple Anshe Sholom at 215 Cline Ave North. Also located in our building is Temple Playhouse Daycare and Kehila Jewish day school.

How do parents access the building?

Parents will buzz in using the telecom at the front door. Our classroom are equipped with a camera where we can see the parents and allow them to enter. From there they will proceed down the stairs to pick up their child from our classroom.
