Description

Our group French tutoring program, called French Learning Circle, was developed to address gaps in learning, consistency, routine, and French language support that students have faced in their French learning over the last few years.

This membership programs consists of daily, half an hour online classes with a focus on French reading and conversation practice. Using a drop-in format, students can attend all or only some classes based on their specific needs.

We are starting with students in grades 3-4, since we have seen a significant impact in this age group as they were just starting to learn the foundations of French reading, writing, and speaking when the 2020 pandemic hit.

This program culminates everything we have learned from teaching thousands of hours in online camps, French chats, story times, and tutoring sessions to students across Canada. We have also run this specific program with various school boards in Ontario.

Class structure is as follows:

  • Reading Practice (30 min): Reading a different book or article together followed by questions and discussions
  • Conversation Practice (30 min): Different discussion questions each class to give students an opportunity to express themselves in French
  • Grammar (30 min): A lesson on different elements in French grammar like verbs, adjectives, pronouns etc. and activities for class to participate in to practiceAural comprehension
