1) Manager and French Program Educator

Les Petites Pommes French Programs – 215 Cline Ave North, Hamilton

  • Example Schedule: School Year: Monday to Thursday, 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Fridays 12:00pm-6:00pm, Summer & PA Day Camps: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Hourly Wage: $24-$28/Hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate, organized, and energetic General Managerto oversee the smooth functioning of our core offerings: French tutoring, before & afterschool programs, and seasonal camps. This is a dynamic, hands-on leadership role that blends teaching, program management, client relations, and administrative oversight.

The ideal candidate is confident, resourceful, and brings a positive, can-do attitude to each day. You will be responsible for leading our team, maintaining strong relationships with families, ensuring every Les Petites Pommes experience is thoughtful, professional, and well-organized, while actively supporting students through engaging French programming.

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram & Operations Leadership

  • Oversee the daily operations of tutoring, before & afterschool, and camp programs
  • Manage staff schedules, program calendars, and daily logistics
  • Ensure all programs reflect Les Petites Pommes values
  • Support the growth and continuous improvement of all programs
  • Develop and maintain consistent routines and systems across programs

Teaching & Student Engagement

  • Lead engaging lessons and activities in tutoring, before & afterschool, and camp settings
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate programming rooted in student interests
  • Adapt programming to meet the age, level, and needs of students
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where students build confidence through French
  • Walk students safely from Cootes Paradise Elementary School to the program site each day
  • Take accurate daily attendance and maintain all safety protocols

Communication & Client Relations

  • Greet students and parents with warmth and professionalism each day
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with families and partner schools
  • Write parent update emails to keep families informed
  • Respond to parent emails, phone calls, and messages in a timely manner
  • Communicate regularly with Les Petites Pommes office staff and teaching team

Administration & Technology

  • Use and maintain administrative platforms including:
  • QuickBooks (invoicing, expense tracking, and basic reporting)
  • Uplifter (client registration, program schedules, and communication)
  • TutorBird (tutoring scheduling and tracking)
  • Communicate effectively using Slack, email, and other digital tools
  • Maintain accurate digital records and support ongoing improvements to systems
  • Learn and adapt to new software platforms as needed

Environment & Behaviour Management

  • Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming classrooms and activity spaces
  • Approach student behaviour with compassion, consistency, and clear expectations
  • Set a positive tone with students, parents, and fellow team members

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and French (spoken French required)
  • Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings
  • Previous experience in education, tutoring, camp, program coordination, or a similar leadership role
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong digital literacy and professional communication skills
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on teaching with administrative responsibilities
  • Willingness to learn new software platforms and systems
  • Familiarity with Ontario elementary school environments is an asset
  • Available Monday to Thursday, 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Fridays 12:00pm-6:00pm September through June (8:00 – 5:00pm on PA days and through the Summer)
  • Able to walk students daily from Cootes Paradise Elementary School to the program site
  • Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to consistency and follow-through
  • Willing to complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) upon hire
  • Standard First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date)
  • Credit check completed prior to start date
  • Three professional references

2) After-School French Educator

Les Petites Pommes French Programs – 215 Cline Ave North, Hamilton

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM (September to June)Note: Program does not run on school closure days, opportunity for further hours on PA Days. 

Start Date: September 8th, 2026.

Wage Structure:

  • $18.00/hour – For candidates currently enrolled in a university undergraduate program
  • $20.00/hour – For candidates currently enrolled in or graduated from a Bachelor of Education program
  • $23.00/hour – For candidates with a completed B.Ed. and relevant teaching experience

Additional Compensation:

  • Planning time per month if needed

3) In-Person French Tutor

Location: 215 Cline Ave N (Hamilton, ON) + Remote
Start Date: December 1 2025
Wage: $17.20–$25.00/hour based on relevant experience
Hours: Contract, Part-Time (10-20 hours/week, with potential for growth)

This role includes:

  • A minimum availibility of 10 hours/week of direct teaching either in-person or remote during the school year 
  • Opportunities to increase both teaching hours based on performance and demand

Key Responsibilities

Parent Communication

  • Onboard new families and answer questions about tutoring programs
  • Provide regular updates to parents maintain a warm and professional tone in all communications
  • Answer parent emails and questions in a timely manner 

Tutoring 

  • Provide high-quality French tutoring to your own assigned students
  • Tailor sessions to student needs and track their progress
  • Write progress reports and communicate with families as needed

Requirements:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring
  • Fluency or high proficiency in French 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to lead with empathy, clarity, and professionalism
  • Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check (required prior to start date)
  • A passion for working with children and fostering growth through learning
  • Ability to lead meetings and lessons in person or on Zoom
  • Basic Tech Abilities
  • 3 Previous References 
  • Ability to write and communicate clearly and professionally
