We’re 8 days away from an incredible celestial event…the solar eclipse happening on April 8th!

As you are all probably aware by now, school across Ontario have modified their schedules to coincide with this, including the HWDSB and the HWDCSB.

We will be having French PA Day Camp on April 8th and we will also be working with parents who register their children to ensure all safety concerns are addressed. Concerns like modified pick up times, checking in if they would like their child to watch the solar eclipse live outside or stay inside and watch the Nasa Livestream, practicing with the students how to view an eclipse safely before hand and more.

Our location has a large open sky thanks to Churchill park so if conditions are favourable, we should have a great viewing opportunity along with the rest of our neighbours.

So for those who are going to register and who are already registered, we will be considering all of these things and communicating with all of you in the next week in preparation for this exciting, once in a lifetime event!

In the meantime, there’s lots of opportunities around Hamilton if you want to learn more about the eclipse. Your child should be a receiving a complimentary pair of eclipse glasses from McMaster University, so be sure to hang on to those for the big day! Eclipse glasses are also available at no cost at our Hamilton Public Libraries.

Looking forward to spending this extra special day with our awesome Petites Pommes!
